We invite all who wish to honour and remember their animal to place a “sentiment” here.  It can be a story, a poem or even just a picture.  This may also help others through their journeys.  We hope you find this helpful.

  1. I am sending each of you love and hugs for the loss of your beloved pets, your family members. They leave pawprints in our hearts.

Wednesday we lost our beautiful Faith, she was only 9 years old.
    February 9 2008 – June 21 2017
She was a very special girl to both Brad and I, coming into our lives at a very tough time. We loved her so much and I know that she loved us too. We are beyond shocked and devastated, she had not been well so we took her into the vet Wednesday afternoon. She went into cardiac arrest when they went to do bloodwork and in an instant she was gone. The vet did an autopsy (they called it something else but I don’t remember) and called to tell us they found pancreatic cancer, cancer around her heart and fluid starting in her lungs. I cannot even breathe right now. To some a cat is merely a cat but to us she was so very much more than that, we miss her more than words can describe right now.

  2. Hi Michelle, my wife and I just went through a similar experience with our 15 year old cat. We’re devastated with her loss but also in shock at how she was fine one day and then went down hill so quickly. We were forced to make the hard decision to put her down but we still question our decision even though the Vet was wonderful and assured us it was the right thing. We understand and empathize with your heart-ache!

    • Thank you Jeff. It now has been a few months and the pain is there every day. We never even had a chance to decide, but I think she knew that we would find it too hard to make a decision so she decided for us at the vet clinic. She was in too much pain to stay, she stayed as long as she could but she needed to go. My heart goes out to you and your wife as your journey has also been painful and sad. May we all find healing.

      • Thank you Michele. It’s helpful to hear other people’s similar stories so we know we’re not the only ones dealing with our grief. I guess we can get a bit of comfort knowing it was time, even though that time always comes too quickly. My wife and I have actually adopted 2 kittens, they look a lot like your Faith. It was a bit soon but they are helping us a lot as our house was too quiet and empty. All the best.
